I am Precious Anne F. Labarete, and I go by Anne.
Currently, I am an 18 year old Software Development student studying at iACADEMY. I was born on October 9, 2006 coming from a family of 4 with me, my mom, dad, and older sister.
Beyond programming, I am passionate about all aspects of art ranging from writing, illustrations, and photography or videography. I am working towards improving my programming skills and possibly work in the Tech industry in the future.
Everyday I strive to be the best version of myself, and deepen my knowledge through my interests and passions. For me, I want to live my life to the fullest and become a person I can be proud of.
Throughout my years of living, I have always been driven by a lot of things in my life– whether it be my passions or interests. That drive fuels me, pushing me to embrace challenges, and pursue excellence in everything I do. With that, my work philosophy has always been driven by passion.
I value honing my skills and striving for independence, knowing that as long as I can stand on my own, I can walk my own path toward a successful career. For the most part, I strive to be a person that not only others could be proud of but myself as well. However, I also recognize that collaboration is at the forefront of my values. I understand the importance of teamwork and believe that success is often a collective effort. The last thing I would want is an environment short of mutual respect and support– I strive to build connections that inspire and drive me further. Beyond technical skills, I am committed to maintaining professionalism and empathy in everything I do.
Besides, what is a great general if they don’t have an army to back them up?
For me, a fulfilling career is not just about achieving individual success; it’s about leaving your mark and inspiring others– much like how others have inspired me. Whether it's through programming, creative endeavors, or things I am passionate about in general, I aspire to leave a piece of me that could one day be the drive to someone's career.
(2024) In our Philosophy class, we were tasked to create an advertisement that shows common fallacies such as Argumentum ad misericordiam, Ad hominem, Argument ad infinitum, and more. The prompt was to showcase the different fallacies and advertise a deodorant brand. My team and I have created a humorous short that featured the members arguing on who was stinky. This then led to a prosecution-style back-and-forth as the members pointed fingers at each other. The stylized video editing style was inspired by the hit-game Ace Attorney, whose premise was solving cases in court. I personally edited the video and our team wanted to engage the audience in this silly and creative interaction. At the end of the advertisement, we featured a deodorant called “The Council” that “Councils the Smell” and keeps you from having “Foul Friendships”– such as shown in the video.
(2024) Another work we have done for our Philosophy class this term was to make an infographic about the impacts of poor body image while also encouraging self-love and mental health.
This activity focuses on understanding the impacts of poor body image while promoting self-love and mental well-being. It delves into factors that contribute to negative body image, such as media influence, peer pressure, and societal beauty standards, along with the mental and physical consequences, including low self-esteem, anxiety, and unhealthy behaviors. By drawing from personal experiences and research, the activity highlights practical strategies like embracing self-acceptance, building healthy habits, limiting harmful media exposure, and fostering a supportive environment. By combining real-world insights with actionable solutions, it aims to challenge societal pressures, enhance self-perception, and inspire positivity in others.
